Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is tuning fork sound therapy?

Tuning fork sound therapy uses tuning forks set to specific frequencies to create gentle sound and subtle vibration. It is a calming experience designed to help you relax deeply and feel more settled.

  • What happens in a session?

We begin with a friendly chat so you can arrive, settle, and feel comfortable. You are invited to set an intention for the session, then you relax comfortably while the forks are used from the feet up towards the head.

  • Do I need to share my intention?

No. You can keep your intention private if you prefer. The session can still be guided with care and focus either way.

  • Where are sessions held?

Sessions usually take place in a therapy room at my home in Crofty, Gower. It is a quiet space designed to help you feel at ease.

  • Do you offer online consultations?

Yes, online consultations and sessions can be arranged. Contact to find out more.

  • What if I cannot lie down comfortably?

That is absolutely fine. If lying on a couch is not comfortable or practical due to mobility or pain, the session can be done in a chair instead.

  • What tuning forks do you use?

On your first appointment, I will show you the forks I use and demonstrate them so you can become familiar with the sound. These include the Om, Weighted Om, and 528 Hz tuning forks.

  • Can tuning forks help with pain?

If you are experiencing pain, I will ask where it is and how intense it feels using a simple one to ten scale. Many clients find the forks supportive for easing discomfort, but results can vary and sound therapy is not a replacement for medical care.

  • How might I feel during or after a session?

Most people feel extremely relaxed and experience deep relaxation. Sometimes there can be an emotional release, including tears, particularly in sessions focused on trauma, and this can be a normal part of the process.

  • How is this different from other complementary therapies?

The forks are set at specific frequencies, which many people experience as precise and deeply settling. Clients often say the Om helps quieten mental chatter and supports a calmer state.

  • How long is a session and what does it cost?

A one hour session is £50, but it is not usually the best fit for a first appointment as there is limited time either side to chat. A 1.5 hour session is £65 and is recommended, and a first appointment typically lasts around two hours (this can vary).

  • Do you offer trauma focused sessions?

Yes. Advanced forks can be used for specific healing energy and trauma relief, using a similar approach to the clear, cleanse and balance session. Other techniques can also be explained and included if needed.

  • Is tuning fork sound therapy safe for everyone?

Sound based therapies are generally gentle, but there are situations where extra caution is advised, including pregnancy (especially early pregnancy), epilepsy or seizure conditions, pacemakers or other implants, and some serious mental health concerns. The safest approach is to tell your practitioner about any medical conditions, and if you are unsure, check with your GP or specialist before booking.

I have been to Cris for 5 sessions now. I can see genuine improvement to my physical and mental wellbeing.

In my sessions I have remembered memories I didn't realise I had. It's making a genuine impact on improving my day-to-day and I can't thank him enough. He has also been working on my carpel tunnel which has eased massively since using tuning fork therapy.

I found myself embarking on a transformative journey that I never anticipated. After suffering from persistent heel pain for nearly two years, I was desperate for relief. I had tried various treatments with little success, so I decided to give Tuning Fork Therapy a chance.

Thank you, Cris, for your warmth and dedication. You have not only alleviated my physical pain but have also guided me towards emotional liberation. Your impact on my life is immeasurable.

Cris provided a really relaxing and healing sound therapy session. It very much delivered what he said it would, and I have been sleeping much better as a result due to this being the intention with which I entered the session. Much appreciated!

From the very first session, I experienced immediate relief from a tendinitis flare-up. Over the course of the treatments, I also noticed the release of long-held trauma within my body and a significant improvement in the quality of my sleep. The sessions themselves are deeply relaxing, and Chris brings a high level of attentiveness and skill to his work. He has a remarkable ability to tune in and create a supportive environment for healing.

Cris was warm and welcoming, and explained the process clearly. The process itself was relaxing, and I left feeling peaceful and energised.

I have some childhood trauma, I thought it was worth trying something holistic. Cris was friendly, professional and comforting. I'm looking forward to my next session!
